What is Behavior Modification?
1. Uses positive and negative reinforcement, and positive and negative punishment, to 
achieve extinction of an unwanted behavior.
2. More aversive punishment can lead to affective (emotional) disorders, as well as to the receiver of the punishment increasingly trying to avoid the punishment (i.e., “not get caught”).
3. Violent behavior is imitated, without being reinforced.
